I’m a Laird

We travelled to Mount Albert Ontario to visit with my Aunt and Uncle. They back on to a forest and they had lots of birds drop by. Here are a few. Downy Woodpeckers and American Golden Finch

We travelled to Bath, Ontario for my Aunts internment. It was a somber day for a somber occasion. Since we were so close to Napanee, we couldn’t resist a quick visit to see the Falls and Train Bridge there.

Went for a walk at lunch today and the birds were really chirping away. Sometimes the small things like bird song just makes your day.

Been finding it hard to get out of the house, so have been watching the back yard to see who is visiting us. Here is a little selection of our back yard friends

We had a very bad freezing rain storm and power is still out all over the city 24 hours later. I didn’t venture to far from the house (I really don’t need to fall (ever again)). These pictures are from just around the house.

The weather was “warmish” today, so I took my camera out for a walk. This was it’s first outing since the Snow Bears. I was astounded to hear all the bird song and see how many birds and animals were out today. The Robins were very busy looking for food and they were able to find some. Hope you enjoy my photos of the first signs of Spring.

A few shots from the street after our latest dump of snow. We are starting to run out of places to put it. Thankfully another month or so and it should be significantly reduced or maybe even gone.

Today we took a 2.5 km walk in Ottawa’s west end to see the Snow Bears. What a fun outing it was. The trail was flat and well packed. I am very please to have been able to get out and see these little guys. I wanted to do it last winter but was just not up to it. Great progress!

As promised, back in December, here is some more glass and light photography. The Glass Ball is a piece of Caithness Glass from Scotland that we got as a wedding present and the glass Ducks belonged to my Grandmother. There used to be 4 of them but one fell and shattered into a million pieces.

Did a family photoshoot for Christmas. I don’t normally take photos of people so this was an interesting lesson for me. It was wonderful having everyone over for dinner and having our daughter home from Scotland for the Holidays.

Between Christmas and New Years we rented a cute little AirBnb in Montebello to have some quiet family time. We also took a little day trip up to Mount Tremblant specifically to get some Beavertails.
