Where did September go? Today we took a couple of short walks in our hometown of Orleans. One was along the river pathway and another in the heart of Orleans that I never knew existed. We are hoping to do a small road trip next weekend when the leaves should be more spectacular.
We were gifted a 2 night stay at the Somewhere Inn in Calabogie, Ontario on Labour Day weekend. A lovely little boutique hotel. We really enjoyed our stay with a couple of little road trips to Renfrew for dinners and an amazing hike out to the Eagles Nest Lookout which is just up the road from the hotel.
On our way back from Prince Edward Island, we had a 2 night stay in Quebec City, Quebec. Our daughter had never been before and it made a great place to stop on the way back after a full day of driving. We did the hop-on-off bus tour of the city and we were able to see and hear about sights that even after several visits I had never seen. We also visited Montmorency Falls just outside the city. This had been on my bucket list for a few years now.
A postponed family vacation from 2021 due to Pandemic and Health issues happened this year instead. We are visiting with our favourite down East family. Great times!

So I don’t typically photography people, but we got invited to watch/photograph a former daycare child that we looked after. These 8 years old’s were absolutely brutal/ I had no idea Lacrosse was so rough. I played it in Highschool, but it was nothing like this.
Today I joined several other people from the Conqueror Virtual Walk Challenges here in Orleans.
We met for the parkrun and then had coffee at a local Timmies
parkruns are free, weekly, community events all around the world.
parkrun events are 5k and take place on Saturday morning in parks and open spaces.
parkrun is a positive, welcoming and inclusive experience where there is no time limit and no one finishes last. Everyone is welcome to come along, whether you walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate.
I was really excited to be notified that I came in 2nd in my age group even though I just walked the route.
Been a tough month physically with my Autoimmune disease flaring up. I was feeling up to trying a bit of photography and trying to figure out this Infrared photography thing. Using lessons learned from my previous two little outings, I headed to the LRT constructions sights near the IMALAIRD Photography worldwide headquarters. Again, I learned a few things. Hope you enjoy these efforts.
I had a big morning planned for photography at Mer Blue Bog, but there must be storm damage there as the road was closed when I went down to park, So I headed off to Petrie Island instead. I took a pile of photos but as I am still learning only 2 are good enough to share this time.
I got a couple of Infrared Filters for my camera for Christmas and today I took them out for a very quick session to see what they would produce. Although I like what I got, I need to practice a bit more and find more interesting subject matter to photograph.
