Dandelion and Negative Spaces

Found a Dandelion that was ready to spread its seeds. The season is nearly over, so I though I should take a few shots of it before they are gone for the summer. I love the used of the black background to create some negative space.

Canada Day Weekend

We spent Canada Day weekend at a beautiful cottage in Hastings County in eastern Ontario.

Very interestingly the cottage was located near the graveyard where my Great-Great-Great-Grandfather is buried. He was the first Canadian of my family line. He immigrated from the USA.

The rest of the weekend was spent with Tom and Dianne, their son and my daughter. It was the first time we had met his parents and we felt like old friends after just a few hours. Their home was lovely and the lake was amazing!

A Pleasant afternoon in Montebello

We met with some great friends from Montreal and chose Montebello as a meeting please as it was basically half way for each of us to meet up. We had a nice lunch and then walked into Manor Papineau. Our friends had never been to the Chateau Montebello before so we had a nice wee walk on the grounds and in the main lobby.

Mount Albert Backyard Birds

We travelled to Mount Albert Ontario to visit with my Aunt and Uncle. They back on to a forest and they had lots of birds drop by. Here are a few. Downy Woodpeckers and American Golden Finch

Backyard Visitors

Been finding it hard to get out of the house, so have been watching the back yard to see who is visiting us. Here is a little selection of our back yard friends

April Ice Storm

We had a very bad freezing rain storm and power is still out all over the city 24 hours later. I didn’t venture to far from the house (I really don’t need to fall (ever again)). These pictures are from just around the house.

April 4th – Is Spring here?

The weather was “warmish” today, so I took my camera out for a walk. This was it’s first outing since the Snow Bears. I was astounded to hear all the bird song and see how many birds and animals were out today. The Robins were very busy looking for food and they were able to find some. Hope you enjoy my photos of the first signs of Spring.
