Road Trip – Renfrew

I had to drive up to Renfrew for a test at the Renfrew Hospital (all is good) so we decided to make a road trip out of it. We stopped at the Swing Bridge, the Power Dam and the Old Mill. We had been there last fall, but seeing it in the Winter was interesting.

Princess Louise Falls in the Winter

It was a reasonable day weatherwise today and I had seen that another photographer had been down to the falls. So we took a little drive down the road. These falls are very close to the Imalaird Headquarters. The snowbanks were rather high, so not idea for taking photos, but I got a few I like. Sometime I think I need to upgrade my ND Filter. Next time I am going to try my Infrared Filter.

Christmas Eve at Petrie Island

Well, the weather outside is frightful, seriously, the skies are dull for has seemed like weeks and there is absolutely no snow and none in the forecast will the New Year. A few years ago we took a little stroll along the beach on Boxing Day when the weather was very similar, so the Team headed down to Petrie Island so get some beach time.

A Walk around Mer Bleu Bog

One half of the Imalaird Photography Team went for lunch with the British Ladies downtown, so I thought I would take advantage of a couple of hours to go take pictures of planes on approach at the Airport. Got to the airport and they had switch operations to a less than ideal viewing spot, so headed back to the Head Office (Home). On the drive back, I passed by the road to Mer Bleu Boardwalk. That’s always a favourite to walk around with the cameras.

A Weekend in the Laurentians

The Imalaird Team rented a Chalet in the Laurentian Mountains for the weekend. It was a very nice getaway. Got some shots of a wonderful sunset when we arrived, some nice nature shots on a wee walk and some super cool night shots of the Beaver moon with Jupiter and a Halo.

A November Road Trip

We took a little drive to Russell Ontario to check out the New York Central Fitness Trail. This is the next closest park to Orleans. I was still recovering from treatments, so just walk a short distance and got a feel for the trail. It was very nice and well maintained. Saw a beautiful horse in a field along the away. Couldn’t help put take a few photos of it. One of the photos was highlighted by my photography instructor Emma Davies on her AYEARWITHMYCAMAERA Instagram feed.

The Last Colours of Fall

I participated in our local 5k parkun event. I wasn’t feeing wonderful after a couple of booster shots at the end of the week, so I decided I would turn the parkrun into a bit of a photography session/walk. I think this will be the last of the Fall colours as the leaves on the trees have been falling in huge bunches on my street this week with the snow flurries and wind.
